Dangerous Goods Awareness Training

Any person that deals with dangerous goods must have ‘sufficient’ training as to the dangers of such goods. This also includes drivers of vehicles carrying dangerous goods outside the scope of ADR regulations.

First Aid at Work Requalification

Any trained First Aider is required to renew their qualification at regular intervals. This course will renew your existing First Aid at Work qualification for a further 3 years if completed within 28 days after your current one expires.

This regulated qualification is in accordance with the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) regulations 1981 and provides learners with the skills and knowledge to deal with First Aid situations in low and high risk environments.

Upon completion of this course you will be able to:

  • Understand the role and responsibilities of a First Aider
  • Manage an unresponsive casualty
  • Recognise and assist a casualty who is choking
  • Manage a casualty with external bleeding
  • Manage a casualty who is in shock
  • Manage a casualty with a minor in jury
  • Conduct a secondary survey
  • Administer First Aid to a casualty with injuries to bones, muscles and joint
  • Administer First Aid to a casualty with burns and scalds
  • Administer First Aid to a casualty with an eye injury
  • Administer First Aid to a casualty with sudden poisoning
  • Administer First Aid to a casualty with anaphylaxis
  • Provide First Aid to a casualty with suspected major illness

First Aid Annual Skills Refresher including CPR

This course will provide the annual refreshment that the HSE recommends to all First Aiders.

The course includes CPR training, and will ensure that all First Aiders will remain confident in their knowledge and informed of current best practice

This course will cover:

  • Assessing an emergency
  • Giving First Aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizures)
  • Cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • Treating wounded or bleeding casualties
  • Shock
  • HSE accident reporting
  • First aid kits and avoiding cross infection

This course will train trainers to plan, coordinate and implement the application of Training in accordance with approved National and International standards. First Aid at Work – 3 days

A 3 day course to qualify you as a workplace First Aider in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. You will learn the role and responsibilities of a First Aider and at the end of the course, you will obtain a recognised First Aid certificate. This qualification, certificated by Qualsafe, will carry a Level 3 award in the Qualifications Credit Framework (QCF) and will be valid for 3 years.

Course content will cover:

  • the role and responsibilities of a First Aider
  • assessing an incident
  • managing a casualty who is unresponsive, but breathing normally
  • managing a casualty who is unresponsive, and not breathing normally
  • recognise a casualty who is choking, has external bleeding, who is in shock, or who has a minor injury
  • how to administer first aid to a casualty with:
    • injuries to bones , muscles and joints
    • suspected hear and spinal injuries
    • suspected chest injuries
    • Burns and scalds
    • an eye injury
    • sudden poisoning
    • Anaphylaxis
  • how to conduct a secondary survey
  • providing first aid, and taking appropriate action with a casualty with a suspected major illness

Emergency First Aid at Work – 1 day

A one day course which can be adapted to suit a particular audience and is ideal for a lower risk business in accordance with Health and Safety (First Aid) regulations. 

A one-day course to learn what to do as the first person on the scene, to have the confidence to assess the incident and to take the appropriate immediate action.

Course content will cover:

  • the role and responsibilities of a First Aider
  • the ability to assess an incident
  • manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally
  • manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally
  • recognise and assist a casualty who is choking
  • deal with a casualty with external bleeding or who is in shock
  • manage a casualty with a minor injury

This qualification, certificated by Qualsafe, will carry a Level 2 award in the Qualifications Credit Framework ( QCF ) and will be valid for 3 years
