Security Restricted Areas
- Airports are divided into Landside & Airside
- The SRA exist to prevent prohibited items being taken onto an aircraft for use in any act of unlawful interference
- Not all key parts of an airport are located within the SRA
- Passenger Terminal – Landside
- Departure Lounge – Airside
- Aircraft aprons – Airside
- Cargo areas
- Airport / Airline Operations Centres
- Airside & Landside
- Air Traffic Control Centres – Airside
- Other vulnerable areas – Fuel farms, Sub Stations, Navigation beacons
- Must have physical barrier
- Open areas within the SRA to be patrolled
- Use of security equipment – CCTV – Infra Red detectors – Fencing alarms etc
- Access control system
